Basic Information of Argentina Soccer Jerseys

Argentina National Football Team

  ♥ History

Argentina is one of the giants in the national football team and is known to have a huge passion for football. Argentina was the host in 1916 when the first Copa South America (the predecessor of the Copa America) was held. In those days, South American football was dominated by Argentina and Uruguay.

Before the World Cup was established, the Olympic Games were the most prestigious international events. In 1928, Argentina took part in the competition for the first time, and the team finally won the opportunity to face rival Uruguay in the final with excellent results. The result was a 2-1 win for Uruguay.

In the 1940s, Argentina won four of the six South American football championships. Over the next decade, they became one of the best-performing teams on the continent. Jonathan Wilson wrote in Angels with Dirty Faces that "in the 1960s Argentine football became tougher, more cynical and more defensive in outlook".

Juan Carlos Lorenzo left shortly after the World Cup in England, followed by a long period that many coaches only lasted for a short time. The poor record on the field caused Argentina to miss the World Cup for the first time. Argentina qualified for the 1974 World Cup in Germany, but despite this, Argentina failed to achieve any victory in the group stage.

In March 2007, Argentina reached the top of the FIFA Men's World Ranking for the first time.

♥ Famous Player of Argentina Football Team

As long as you talk about Argentina in the context of football, it is impossible not to talk about Diego Maradona and Lionel Messi, two of the greatest footballers of all time.
But the history goes back even earlier, when there were other stars who saved Argentine football, such as Adolfo Pedernera, Antonio Sastre, Omar Sívori and Manuel Seoane.

I believe Argentine football fans will remember the World Cup in Mexico in 1996. When it comes to victories that year, one person is often mentioned - Maradona,
whose brilliance overshadowed the rest of the players. He scored 5 goals and 5 assists in that game (Argentina scored 14 goals in the game).

Maradona's performances were impressive: on 27 February 1977 he made his debut against Hungary; he represented Argentina in the FIFA U-20 World Cup and helped the team win the title.

He led the club to two Serie A titles in 1986-87 and 1989-90. In the 1987-88 and 1988-89 Serie A Italian Championships, the club used him as the top scorer in the 1987-88 season.

Lionel Messi is  Born into a football-loving family in central Argentina, he played football with his brothers from an early age.
His first team as a child was Newell's Old Boys, and at the age of 13 he started playing for FC Barcelona's under-14 team.
After making his competitive debut at the age of 17, his impressive performance destined Messi to become an indispensable player for FC Barcelona.

As the squad's captain from 2011, he led Argentina to three consecutive finals: the 2014 FIFA World Cup, the 2015 Copa América and the 2016 Copa América.  After announcing his international retirement in 2016, he reversed this and led his country to qualification for the 2018 FIFA World Cup and victory in the 2021 Copa América.  He led Argentina to win the 2022 World Cup, where he won a record second Golden Ball, scored seven goals including two in the final, and broke the record for most games played at the World Cup, later receiving his record-extending eighth Ballon d'Or in 2023。considered one of the best players in the world in football history.
